3. Go to a CornBelters Game

Nothing says summer like baseball! The Normal CornBelters are a collegiate summer baseball team in the Prospect League. Families can enjoy watching the games as well as activities like theme nights and a bounce house.

4. Take a Stroll Through Uptown Normal or Downtown Bloomington

There are plenty of shops and restaurants that line the streets of these twin cities that offer a variety of local treats and unique products. If you’re in town on a Saturday, be sure to catch the Farmer’s Market.

5. Enjoy Local Breweries and Wineries

The people of Central Illinois certainly enjoy their craft drinks and local cultivations! There are several breweries located right in Bloomington/Normal and wineries like White Oaks Vineyard.

6. Visit the McLean County Fair

If you’re around Bloomington/Normal at the end of July, you don’t want to miss one of the highlight activities of the summer: the McLean County Fair. Walk around and learn about one of the richest agricultural areas in the country, see the world’s largest county 4-H exhibit, and of course, catch a few rides and games at the carnival.

7. Attend a Summer Festival

The locals love to get out during the summer, and there are several festivals throughout the summer to enjoy! Favorites include the Sugar Creek Arts Festival featuring local artists, Lincoln’s Festival on 66, and the Sweet Corn Blues Festival at the end of the season.
